12 Feb: Today in London Rock’n’Roll History

1967: The infamous Redlands bust – Keith Richards, Mick Jagger and art dealer Robert Fraser are later jailed for the drug offences alleged to have taken place at Richards’s Sussex country pile. The scandal is fuelled by the details of Marianne Faithfull being clad only in a fur rug when the drug squad arrived.

1970: John Lennon becomes the first Beatle to perform on Top of the Pops since 1966 when he plugs his new single Instant Karma.
